Ivery one of us knew that B.543 had this grievance. He never

made any complaint to me or in my hearing against the officer in

Charge or against 3.9. I can give no reason for B.543's action.

I can't assign it to his grievance on account of his transfer.

I attach no importance to his statement when the officer in Charge|

reported him that the officer in Charge had a spite against him.

That was a formal remark and meant nothing."

since Oct. last. I hold a full certificate in English. I was

off duty on the afternoon of July 21st last but did not leave the

Station. At 5.45 p.m. I was feeding in the mess room when I

room. I went to the telephone but could hear no-one at the other

end. I told the interpreter to ring up Lok Ma Chau, and he did

So.

After about 2 minutes he got through to L.B.B.349 who told

me what had happened i.e. that P.C.B.543 had fired at the officer

in Charge with unknown result; and that B.9 had been shot and was

dying and that B.543 had taken away the Lewis gun; and that they

had locked the door and fired shots. I asked him "Where has he

taken the Lewis gun?" and he replied "to the upstairs verandah

by the officer in Charge's quarters." He asked me to notify the

Police Authorities. I then telephoned the news to Au Tau Police

Station and to Sheung Shui. The D.I.,., is stationed at Au Tau.

Two I.P.C. went off from Taipo at 5.55 p.m., on the orders of

the D.I.N., with bullet-proof waistcoats, and later the officer

in Charge and 3 other Indians followed them. I am the munshi at
